Why does the wood look different?

Wood is a natural, organic material.  No two pieces are ever the same.  We do our best to pick the best, most interesting parts of the boards to make the feeders.  Some pieces may be lighter, darker, have knots, knot holes, nail heads, nail holes or areas that look “cracked”.  We don’t consider these defects, they are part of the natural beauty of the wood.  Each feeder is burned with a propane torch to bring out the grain of the wood, then sanded and sealed.

Where does the wood come from?

We believe in re-use, re-purpose, re-cycle.  The wood comes from a variety of sources, generally reclaimed pallets.  Occasionally you can see the history of where the wood comes from:  a footprint, a scratch, a stamp, paint or writing.

What if I ordered the wrong/received the wrong product?

Unfortunately, we humans aren’t perfect.  Maybe you ordered the wrong thing, maybe we mucked up things on our end.  We want you to be happy, so please give us a chance to make things right.

How do I care for my feeder?

Each feeder is sealed with an exterior grade, water based Polyurethane.  We use a satin finish to let the natural wood be the focus.  The top has a minimum of 2 coats of sealer.  An occasional wiping of the top with a gentle, pet safe soap and water should do it.
